On Youth Day #June16, a group of cool dads were hosted to a Father’s Day lunch at the Rock Diner in Fourways.
As a male focused deodorant brand, Status took it upon themselves to host some of Johannesburg’s coolest dads in an effort to support their role as men of status in their homes, careers and society. In a country where social media is constantly taking a bash at men using ‘men are trash’ statements, this brand is taking it upon itself to highlight the fact that there are still some really great men out there doing great things.
As part of this event, Status had some of its consumers attending the lunch as winners of a social media competition prompting them to tell the brand what makes their father a hero giving them a chance to get to treat their dad to a Father’s Day luncheon curtsey of Status. Amongst those who attended the event were, South African thespians, Kagiso Modupe and Vuyo Ngcukana; sports personality, Kabelo Thathe – all of whom are father’s and successful men in their own fields, also sitting on the Status table were other men of Status such as, host with the most for the day, model and MC Stevel Marc and Skeem Saam actors Buhle Maseko and Gift Mokhampanyane.
Zandile Nkatini, Status brand manager said “We want to celebrate our consumers and ensure that they know that the brand recognises them as the people who have helped Status be what it is today. We didn’t just want celebrities at the Status table but real people who represent the essence of what it means to be a ma of status” said
Happy Father’s to the Status man! A man who walks into a room and can have a conversation with anyone in it – about anything. The kind of man everyone wants to be around because he’s got a little something that sets him apart.
